My Favorite Books of 2015 So Far

My Favorite Books of 2015 so far

Earlier this year, I shared my Top 14 Books of 2014 and now that we’re in the eight month of 2015 I thought I’d share and recommend to you guys some of my favorites so far.

1. Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher

I should probably hate the main character in this book yet I couldn’t. This book is just beautifully written and has a gripping story. I highly recommend it to all YA Contemporary lovers.

2. If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin

I related so much to the MC in this book. I remember being sucked into high school again when I was reading it.

3. My Sister Lives in the Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher

I would read anything Annabel Pitcher write. Seriously. This is another heartbreaking book but I LOVE this book just because it’s one of those “important books” everyone should read. Here is my full review of it.

4. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I’ve had this for months before I finally read it and I know I should have read it sooner. This book is PERFECTION.

5. The Color of Our Sky by Amita Trasi

This is another important book. I feel like everyone should read this book. It has mystery, family issues, and tradition and culture. To read my full review and to see some book quotes graphics I made for this book, go here.

6. Kissing in America by Margo RabbKissing in America

This is just a great love book. It has all kinds of love–love for family, poetry, books, travelling and even love for aunts.

7. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness8621462

This is a thought-provoking book. I honestly had no idea where it was leading up to then BAM!! I hope the movie will be good because obviously, no one can make an equally beautiful movie out of this stunning book.

All of these books are contemporary so can you please recommend me you favorite paranormal, sci-fi and fantasy books of 2015? Also, have you read any of these? What did you think of them?

    1. It was the opposite for me. I just stared into oblivion after I read it, contemplating what to do about my life. Haha. But yeah, I cried a little too!

  1. I have only read one book out of this list, and it is The Book Thief. I can definitely see why it made your favourite of 2015 (so far) list! It’s incredibly emotional and important book. The movie is a really lovely adaptation of the story, too!

I really want to read When a Monster Calls! I have heard a lot of good things about it, and good things about Ness in general, PLUS it is illustrated! I LOVE illustrated books a lot πŸ˜€

Some good fantasy/paranormal reads that i highly recommend: Splintered by A.G. Howard, Ignite by Erica Crouch, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski, and Shadows by Paula Weston. All are really awesome starts to series πŸ˜€

  2. Annabel Pitcher is great! Have you ever read ‘Silence is Goldfish’? It was the first book of hers that I read, and I loved her bubbly writing style. Also, ‘The Book Thief’ is one of my favourite books of all time. Loved your post – I’ll definitely be checking out some of the other books you mentioned. x
