The Angel Messenger: The Bookish Angel Readathon, Embarrassing Bookish Moment and Uni Flooding

The Angelย Messenger

The Angel Messenger is a weekly recap feature on the blog where I tell you what happened in the past week in my life, blog and around the blogosphere.

Life

Nothing much happened except that I’m not feeling very well this week. It may be stress or just the fact that our school got flooded on Monday night that we have to walk through knee level flood water (it was so gross) and we have to walk for, like 30 minutes because there weren’t available jeepneys. My whole body hurt the other day also, I get headaches like, every morning/night this week which sucks.

Blogging

I want to host a readathon for my birthday week next month! Originally, I have a full post dedicated to this but I’m not too sure that I will be able to do it. But if enough people comments on this that they want to know the details then I’m going to post it!

Books

Errr…I have gotten 3 books this week because of sales. It may not be a lot to most of you but it sure is to me because my shelf is now overflowing and I have a lot on my physical books TBR.

An Infinite Number of Parallel Universes

This has been one of my anticipated releases of 2015 because it sounds good and a Fil-Am wrote it! The cover is oh-so gorgeous. I got rejected on it on Edelweiss but fortunately, I got accepted for the book tour!

The Story of My Life

Embarrassing story:There was a big sign on top of the shelves that this book and other classics are 50% off and I grabbed this one because Helen Keller is one of the women I look up to and I have yet to read this book. I grabbed another classic book then went to the cashier to pay for them then while the lady was checking out the books I saw with pure horror that they were only 20% off. My money isn’t enough to buy the two of them so I asked why are they only cutting 20% off the price and blah blah blah…So I ended up buying one book. The lady was very nice about it though that I want to hug her lol.

The Baby-Sitters Club 28

Another BSC book eeeeppp. I really want to read this book when I was in middle grade but I couldn’t find any copy and I just found one now that I’m in my 3rd year of college. Great.

The Gathering Storm

After reading Queen of Someday, I’m wanting to read other books set in Russia and this one sounds awesome.

Blog

(9/21) I reviewed Queen of Someday. I think the romance was meh but it was certainly a promising first book to a series!

  1. I am still pretty excited about that Baby-Sitter’s Club book. And then also sad. How many are there? Have you read the whole series? I feel like we should get one big old blogger BSC readalong ๐Ÿ˜‰ And it’s okay, don’t be embarrassed! That has happened to all of us at one point. And YAY for being accepted for the tour- that’s way better than EW anyway. Sorry about the stress and the school flooding though, hopefully this week will be better. Hope you love the new books ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Oh dear, I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well – the flooding does indeed sound rather disgusting, but I hope you feel better soon <3 And I am having SO many flashbacks about your BSC book – I used to adore those books, and it's always so wonderful to get back into childhood favourites, no? ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Whaaaaat, I can’t imagine wading through a knee-deep level flood D: Sometimes it rains so much in Canada that your ankles get drenched but not this much! I’d be interested in doing any readathon, anything to get me motivated to read ๐Ÿ™‚ I didn’t have enough money for a book once too and it feels so awkward when you realize it only at the cashier haha lucky you got a nice one, I always encounter grumpy ones.
